And the Winners Are...
At the Health 2.0 Conference in San Francisco on October 10, 2010, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Pioneer Portfolio announced the winners of three competitions it helped sponsor as part of the Health 2.0 Developer Challenge. Those winners include:

  • Blue Button Challenge: Co-sponsored by the Markle Foundation, Adobe came out in front in this competition to develop innovative apps capable of interfacing with the "Blue Button" data sets provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
  • The Project HealthDesign Developer Challenge: Co-sponsored by the California HealthCare Foundation, Ringful Health emerged as the winner in this competition to turn a Project HealthDesign-sponsored design into a functional, commercial app.
  • The County Health Rankings Challenge: Acsys Interactive took top honors in this contest, which challenged teams to come up with practical ways to use the Foundation's County Health Rankings data for mobile apps.

Stephen Downs, S.M., RWJF assistant vice president of the Health Group, broke the news of the competition results on Pioneering Ideas earlier in the day, highlighting how each of the winning apps improves the ability for patients to interact with health data. In the post, Steve also detailed the impressive response Pioneer and its partners received in the form of cutting-edge submissions to the contest.
